Surfing in Hyuga, Miyazaki

Hyuga (日向市) is a city located in the prefecture of Miyazaki, Japan. Surfers come from all over Japan to enjoy perfect waves throughout the year. The city is known to be sunny and relaxed. The municipality is welcoming surfers for visiting and settling. Here is my selection of surf spots I enjoy visiting:

Okuragahama Beach, which was chosen as one of the “Best 100 Beaches in Japan,” features a 4-kilometer coastline running north-south and a wide sandy beach. You can enjoy nice waves, access to surf shops, showers, and big parking. (The parking is also suitable for sleeping at night).

✅ Toilets

✅ Huge parking
✅ Vending machine
✅ Surf shops
❌ SUP

Kanegahama

        Kuma-san,
Thank you showing where SUP surfing can be done. That kind of information is invaluable to a SUP surfer like me.
